#StandUpToAllHate at the NFL Draft 

On Friday, student leaders Christian Harvey and Emma Friese in partnership with the Foundation to Combat Antisemitism announced the New England Patriots third-round draft pick during the live broadcast. Harvey and Friese are two leaders who stand up to hate every day and are working on rebuilding bridges between the Black and Jewish communities. A video of the powerful moment was shared by the New England Patriots and National Football League on their social channels, garnering thousands of views on social media. Some shared the video on their own channels to show their support of the moment while others shared messages of support in the comment section, thanking the New England Patriots and owner Robert Kraft for taking a powerful stance. 

Jewish Heritage Nights at Pro Baseball Games 

Major League Baseball and Minor League Baseball teams have been inviting community members to celebrate Jewish identity and culture at their stadiums through Jewish Heritage Nights. The Boston Red Sox hosted their annual Jewish Heritage Night on Wednesday, bringing together thousands from the Boston Jewish community and handing out special edition shirts and #StandUpToJewishHate Blue Square pins. The ceremonial first pitch was thrown by Jewish comedian Alex Edelman and caught by former Red Sox player Ryan Lavarnway, who is also Jewish, to further celebrate the Jewish identities of the Boston community. 

Six-Year-Old Spreads Positivity at NYU Law School Commencement  

During New York University Law School’s commencement last Thursday amid pro-Palestinian protests interrupting the ceremony, a six-year-old girl named Eden Rose Neiger walked onstage with her graduating mother and held up a sign with a purple heart she colored – the school color of NYU. Eden’s father said the mood of the crowd changed immediately, breaking the tension the protesters brought throughout the ceremony. People online applauded Eden for bringing positivity to a tense ceremony meant to celebrate the achievements of the graduating class. 

St. Louis Scouts Honor Jewish Veterans for Memorial Day 

Young scouts in St. Louis gathered to place 8,500 American flags at Jewish veterans’ graves at their local cemetery on Sunday. Scouts of all religions came to the event, called the St. Louis Memorial Day Scout Good Turn, and performed a ceremony at each grave to personalize the experience. The event was sponsored by the Jewish Committee on Scouting and FCAS partner Jewish War Veterans of the United States of America
