U.S. Churches
Churches across the nation continue to show support in standing up against antisemitism. In December 2024, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops came together with the American Jewish Committee to produce a catholic edition of the AJC’s “translate hate” materials, which features Catholic commentary on antisemitic terms. In Hewlett, New York, Trinity-St. John’s Church has flown a banner since October 2024 which reads “We stand up for our Jewish neighbors.” The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews are putting on their second annual “Flags for Fellowship” campaign to commemorate the October 7, 2023, massacre. World Outreach Church in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, is the host of this year’s flagship event on October 5th.

Clayton Community
Last week, we reported on an antisemitic act that occurred in Clayton, Missouri, where several cars were lit on fire and threats were graffitied outside a former IDF soldier’s home. Following this hateful incident, the local community came together to show support in an interfaith service. Members of the Jewish community were joined by non-Jewish neighbors in an act of solidarity at Kol Rinah synagogue, only 350 feet from the site of the firebombs. Clayton Mayor Bridget McAndrew was in attendance, as were representatives of the local police and FBI office who offered words of support to the congregation, saying they are investigating the incident as a hate crime.

Javier Milei
The Genesis Prize Foundation’s 2025 honoree, Argentina President Javier Milei, announced on Monday that the $1 million award will be used to support a new initiative aimed at strengthening Israeli-Latin American ties. Milei is the first non-Jew and first head of state to receive the Genesis Prize, recognized for his ongoing support of the Jewish world, from demanding the prosecution of those involved in the AMIA terror attack to working to de-establish preexisting antisemitic laws. Milei was named the Foundation’s 2025 honoree in January and received the award in a ceremony in mid-June.
Milei said he will use the award money to form the “American Friends of the Isaac Accords” (AFOIA), an initiative that aims to improve diplomatic, economic, and cultural cooperation between Israel and Latin American countries. The accords plan to team up with successful nonprofits in Latin America to work with “sideline nations” such as Uruguay, Panama, and Costa Rica to foster stronger relationships with Israel. “I trust this gesture may inspire deeper dialogue and cooperation… based on shared values such as freedom, democracy, and mutual respect.”

Fight with Light Rally
An interfaith rally was held last Thursday in Rockwall, Texas, following the discovery of several antisemitic flags hung outside the Rockwall-Heath high school. The rally was a partnership between Rockwall and the neighboring town of McLendon-Chisholm, with members of the local Jewish community and non-Jewish allies in attendance. The police have opened an investigation into how the banners were put up, but so far there have not been any arrests. Rockwall’s Chabad Rabbi Moishy Kalmenson said that this rally was an opportunity to educate those unaware of why this incident was such a big deal, and an opportunity for the community to come together to support the Jewish students affected.
